Amit Munshi – President and CEO
Amit Munshi is the President and Chief Executive Officer of Percivia.
Mr. Munshi brings with him over 20 years of experience building successful global businesses. He has demonstrated an entrepreneurial vision both in start-up environments and within larger corporate enterprises - making him uniquely suited to lead PERCIVIA.
Mr. Munshi is a Co-founder and the former Chief Business Officer of KYTHERA Biopharmaceuticals, Inc. During his tenure at KYTHERA, Munshi identified the lead program, ATX-101, played a central role in the raising of over $70 million in institutional financing from global investors, and led the completion of a $373 million ex-US license of ATX-101 to Intendis, a division of Bayer HealthCare AG.
Prior to co-founding KYTHERA, Mr. Munshi was the General Manager of Amgen's European Nephrology Business, with responsibility for Amgen lead product for anemia management. In his tenure at Amgen, his product experience included multiple launches in Europe and the re-launch plan for Amgen’s flagship inflammation product in the United States. His prior experience included sales and marketing and business development roles at Astra Merck and Johnson & Johnson.
Mr. Munshi is also a co-founder and Board Member of Nephrian Inc., and a Board Member of Cynvenio Biosystems, LLC.
Mr. Munshi holds a BA in History and a BS in Economics from the University of California at Riverside and an MBA from the Peter F. Drucker & Masatoshi Ito Graduate School of Management at Claremont Graduate University.
Michael Wyand – VP of Global Operations
Dr. Wyand heads global operations, including research, product development, and manufacturing for PERCIVIA.
Michael joins PERCIVIA from BioAssets where he ran product development, research and development and manufacturing. He has been responsible for numerous INDs and BLAs as well as operations globally. While at BioAssets, Michael was a member of the executive team and responsible for manufacturing, quality, preclinical and clinical development. He led a product through all research and development functions to a multicenter Phase 2a clinical trials. Additionally, he executed global due diligence in the U.S., India and China on biosimilar partners for development and commercial supply agreements.
Prior to BioAssets, Michael was Sr. VP, Research and Development at Therion Corp where he led an R&D team of eighty in vaccine research, immunology, preclinical development, CMC strategy, process development, manufacturing, and compliance. He successfully moved two novel gene therapy cancer vaccines from discovery/preclinical through Phase 2 (prostate) and Phase 3 (pancreatic) and, in collaboration with the National Institutes of Health and the International Aids Vaccine Initiative, initiated Phase 1 AIDS vaccine studies in U.S. and India. He also developed the strategy and executed design, construction, and validation of cGMP manufacturing launch facility for Phase 3 and commercial production of lead products, completing construction and validation completed in two stages within 3 years. He conducted several successful CMC and IND submissions with the US FDA during his time at Therion.
Michael has a PhD in Pathology from University of Connecticut, a DVM from Purdue University and completed comparative pathology medicine residency at Harvard Medical School.
Nick Plumeridge – VP of Business Development
Nicholas is responsible for global business development for PERCIVIA.
Nicholas joins PERCIVIA with 23 years of global business development experience (US, Europe, and Asia Pacific, including Japan, China, SE Asia, & Australia) with Serono, Aventis, Quintiles, and Invida Pharmaceuticals. Most recently Nick was with Takeda Pharmaceuticals where he was Head of Business Development & Licensing for Asia Pacific (ex Japan). Nick has led diligence and completed major deals ranging from multi billion dollar M&A’s (Nycomed, Valeant) to acquisition and in-licensing of specialized products and portfolio’s, life cycle management projects, partnerships and co-promotion deals. In over 30 major deals, Nick has in-licensed over 100 commercial stage assets for Asia, completed several large co-promotion deals in China with major pharmaceutical companies, and completed M&A due diligence on several major deals in Europe, China and SE Asia.
On the commercial side, Nick has general management experience at both country and regional levels with specific expertise in emerging markets having established legal entities, built, developed and run several affiliates with direct management responsibility for 400+ staff.
Nick has a BS in Biology from the University of Essex (UK) and spent four years as an officer in the Royal Navy.
Jeff Kagy – VP ; Human Resources, Administration, and Facilities
Jeff Kagy heads human resources, administration and facilities at Percivia.
Jeff brings with him 23 years of HR and Business Operations experience.
Prior to Percivia, Jeff managed his own independent corporate HR services consulting business. A sample of his former clients include: Biogen, Novartis, Sepracor, Oscient, Archemix, Serono, KPMG, Cytyc/Hologic, John Hancock, Third Rock Ventures (Agios), & Flagship Ventures (T2 Biosystems).
Jeff has a BS in Business from LaSalle University.
